Me and My Essential Oils

Not too long ago I got acquainted with essential oils after winning a giveaway on Instagram. They provided me with a few samples/rollers that allowed me to try out a few of the oils. After trying these oils I realized that it was something I wanted to get into. I had heard a lot about the many benefits of different essential oils but I was interested in learning more. The oil samples I had been given were from Young Living and although I liked them I wanted to explore my options.

Before buying any of my own oils I wanted to make sure I had done all my research so that I knew what I was getting. My requirements for an essential oil company was that they had to have great reviews, high-quality oils and not break the bank. I did A LOT of research on different oil companies. By a lot I mean I took a few weeks to read reports, check out websites and scrolled through countless blog posts of who people recommended and why. I wanted to make sure I was getting as unbias information as possible. There were a number of good contenders but I ended up settling with Plant Therapy.

Why Plant Therapy?

Plant Therapy is a family owned business with good prices oils and a great reputation. Another thing that I liked about Plant Therapy is that they provide all their test reports (by lot number). The reports help to ensure that their oils have been tested to ensure that they are pure. I looked through their website to see what oils I wanted to start with. After looking through all their offerings I noticed that they had a few sets of oils. I decided to order their 7&7 pack of essential oils which contains their top 7 singles and top 7 of their synergies, which are their oil blends.

What’s in the 7&7 set?

7 Single oils – Lemon, Cinnamon, Lavender, Sweet Orange, Tea Tree, Peppermint, and Eucalyptus

7 Synergy (blends) oils – Germ Fighter, Immune Aid, Tranquil, Invigor Aid, Sensual, Relax, and Energy

This whole pack of 14 (10ml) oils only costs $59.95 (USD). I was lucky enough to be ordering while there was a $10 off promo so it was down to $49.95 for me. (If you’re in Canada like I am you get free shipping on orders over $50 so this was shipped to me for free as well). This means that even if bought for the $59.95 price each oil is less than $5 which is about 1/2 off each oil (which is an amazing deal)!

I have used a lot of the oils in the two weeks that I’ve had it but I have to say my favorites are the Peppermint, Lemon, Immune Aid and Relax. During the winter months, I love to diffuse some Immune Aid mixed with a little Sweet Orange to help combat any nasty germs that are coming into the house. I find that the Sweet Orange gives it an added fragrance that will make your room smell great. Another thing that helps prevent getting sick is mixing a drop or two of Germ Fighter into some hand cream to bring with you on the go. I always find that using too much hand sanitizer will make my hands super dry. This helps you stay germ-free while being able to moisturize your hands.

Let’s talk diffusers!

This set does not come with a diffuser, and I highly recommend that you pick one up. You can find a number of them, in all shapes, sizes, and colors, on Amazon.

This is the diffuser that I bought.

And I absolutely love it! It has 14 different color settings including color changing and then the whole rainbow worth of colors. You also have 3 option for the mist which is 1H, 3H or continuous mist. I love the dark wood look of the diffuser and it’s super easy to use and clean.

You can get larger diffusers but I like the size of the 150ml personally. I also recommend it as a great size if you are just starting out with essential oils. Fair warning after you buy one you will want to get one for each room in your house.

Plant Therapy also offers diffusers which you can find on their site as well as a few oil kits that come with a diffuser as well.

Final Thoughts

In summary, if you are looking to start using essential oils then I highly recommend getting the 7&7 essential oils set from Plant Therapy. For any first time Plant Therapy users you also get 10% off at checkout! There’s nothing better than getting free shipping, 10% off and getting to try a bunch of amazing oils with so many choices to pick from. If you have any questions about the oil please feel free to leave a comment on this post. I will answer to the best of my abilities as quickly as I can.
